A Day at the Beach

There is nothing like a hot summer day at the beach, and this little guy is certainly enjoying himself! This little one belongs to photographer mama, Meghan Small from Mae Small Photography who took these gorgeous shots down by the seaside.

From Meghan: The little guy in the photos is my one-year-old Cole.  I was visiting my family in Gulfport, Mississippi (we live in Nebraska Now) and we decided to take Cole to his first trip to the beach.  He is a very serious individual so he mainly just walked around exploring the beautiful ocean side!  Being his first time, he was in complete awe of the waves, and sand which he managed to cover his entire body!

I attended a family members wedding that Meghan Small was hired to photograph. She was extremely rude to myself and other guest, unprofessional, and bored on harassing. Several guest left the wedding early to avoid being treated so horrifically by her and her back up photographer. I will never a attend a wedding that she is hired to photograph again and I would defiantly not recommend any bride who would like their family to be present at the wedding to hiring her. How you treat other says a lot about what kind of person you are.

Hi Kevin, I am so sorry you had a bad experience. I used to be in the wedding industry before leaving to write full time. I understand how the professionalism of a vendor can throw everything off. However, when I posted this we interviewed the family, who raved about Meghan. Perhaps she has an off day or week, we are after all human. I most certainly had off days when I styled weddings and hopefully I wasn’t judged too harshly. It is the TOUGHEST industry to be in, I think I have some wrinkles to prove it;) My best advice is for any family or couple to meet their photographer several times before hiring them. I even suggest shooting with them ( a mini shoot!) to see how the chemistry is…we all hope to avoid bad situations! I hope this helps and I hope your friend had a wonderful day despite. Cheers, Desiree
